Your guide to glowing skin this winter.
The mercury has dropped and we are starting to see skin’s change in-salon. Dehydration, dryness and sensativity increase during the cooler months. The outisde environment coupled with heating, lack of skincare changes and diet play a big part.
Here’s our top 5 tips on helping you winter-proof your skin.
1 – H20’s the GO. Yes! We had to say it. Drink water. We forget to drink when it’s cold, and this wreaks havoc on our skin. Drinking water not only help internal hydration but also flushes toxins from a cells and lymphatics. Try supplimentening water intake with non-caffinated herbal teas or Kombucha to assist gut health also.
2– Hydrate from the outside. Dont ditch your normal moisturiser entirely for winter. 1 easy fix for winter-proof skin is adding a Vitamin B serum to your routine. Used once daily, underneath your nightcream, these oil-free serums can improve skins hydration by 40%+ while you sleep.
3– Thou shalt not “Summer Cleanse” in Winter. The leading cause of dehydration and “stripping” of the skin is using the same cleanser your used for summer sunscreen and oil flow, in winter. In the cool weather our oil flow slows down so the cleansing needs of the skin change. Keeping the same cleanser year round can lead to sensativity, irritation, congestion and dehydration. Condier swapping to a gentler foam or even a light weight milk cleanser to help cleanse & hydrate in one step.
4 – Mask me baby! Masking is a quick and easy way to improve the health of your skin and can be added to any routine. We have 3 easy soltuions to help you introduce a mask into your life.
Traidtional Cream masks – contain active ingreidents to help the skin + hydration. These are applied to the skin in a medium thickness layer and left for 20 mins+. Alternatively, massage them into your skin as a night cream for an extra boost of hydration and nurtients to the skin while you sleep.
Sheet Masks – are so in right now. These cut-out mask sheets are soaking in skin loving hydration serums and placed over the skin to infuse.
Algenate Masks – are used in Professional in-salon Facials. They apply over the entire face neck and eye (the mouth and nose is left free) and set like a rubber mask. This seasl in the serums placed underneath for increased calming, deeper penetration of active ingredients and faster results. The results is glowing calm skin!

EFA’s suppliment the lack of lipids in our diets which help to cleanse and nourish your skin from within. EFA’s are suitable for all skin types. For combination, oily & acne skin’s they help to dislodge & lubricate congestion from within while also regulating sebum production.
